The design for the poster And What's the Matter with Idealism Darling? appears in some of Charles Avery's large scale drawings depicting the fictional world in his life-long project The Islanders.
This series, which began in 2004, is an ever expanding body of drawings, maps, writings and sculpture describing in meticulous and encyclopaedic detail the inhabitants, flora and fauna of the fictional island Ultimate Reality.
Charles Avery was one of 7 artists commissioned to create new work for Edinburgh Art Festival 2015.
Born in Oban, Scotland in 1973, Avery lives and works in London.
