Piece together the history of masculine leaning gender diversity with this jigsaw of transgender and trans-adjacent ephemera. The puzzle consists of found objects pulled from Trans Masc Studies’ eccentric personal collection, including postcards from a crossdressing Egyptian Pharaoh's temple, vinyl records by stealth trans musicians from the 1900s, and a DVD of She’s the Man. In uniting these seemingly disparate items, it creates an alternative record of transgender history as documented hrough pop culture.
About the exhibition
In 2026, Ellis Jackson Kroese of Trans Masc Studies presented their research alongside a hoard of alternative trans artefacts, a curated selection of books and zines, and a dedicated workspace for visitors’ own use. History is a Home pictured queer history as a place of belonging and connection, inviting transcestors past to inform and transform our present and future.
